The Chix with Stix, Steamboat’s A division women’s hockey team, is on a four-game winning streak with the postseason quickly approaching.

The Chix, behind its penalty kill and goalie Carol Vittore, blanked the Breckenridge Blizzard, 3-0 and 1-0, Saturday and Sunday.

The Blizzard entered last weekend’s games at Howelsen Ice Arena in second place in the women’s A division.

Vittore turned away all 20 shots she faced in Steamboat’s 3-0 win Saturday. Scoring goals for the Chix were Gretchen Van De Carr, Val Dietrich and Renee Dupre. Lee Cox, Lisa Owen and Lynne Bosley all had assists.

The second game between the Chix and Blizzard staged Sunday turned into a defensive gem for Steamboat.

Dupre scored her seventh goal of the season 6 minutes and 17 seconds into the first period off an assist from Heidi Chapman-Hoy.
