STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Kids looking for their chance in the spotlight now have their chance.

The Chief Theater will host auditions at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30 for the fourth annual youth holiday production.

Auditions will consist of cold readings of the script as well as some improvisation to see how well kids can take direction. Prepared audition pieces are not required, and the production is recommended for ages 7 and older.

"We are looking for kids of all ages and experiences, and parents who would like to help behind the scenes," said Katie Carroll, one of the Chief Players.

The production, “An Elf in Elementary School,” will be directed by Scott Parker, Robin David and Todd Danielson and will be performed at 7 p.m. Dec. 7 and 8, with a matinee at 4 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Chief Theater.

Rehearsals will be held at 6 p.m. twice per week. Kids only need to attend rehearsals for the scenes they are in. Attendance is mandatory for rehearsals during the week of Dec. 2 to 6.
