Celebration of Caress’ life is set for Sunday in Steamboat

— A celebration of the life of Andy Caress will take place from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Tennis Center at Steamboat Springs.

Caress moved to Steamboat in 2007 to be a tennis pro at the Tennis Center after a playing collegiate tennis at Coastal Carolina University.

He was diagnosed with melanoma in 2008. He died Aug. 4 after a two-year battle with the cancer. In his last months, Caress formed the Mela-KNOW-More foundation to raise awareness about the cancer.

Those attending the celebration are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. Tennis, dodgeball and other activities will be part of the celebration. All friends of Caress are welcome.

A happy hour will occur after the celebration at The Tugboat Grill & Pub.
