Catamount shed burglarized

Tamera Manzanares

— Officers with the Routt County Sheriff’s Department are asking for help in finding the person or people responsible for taking roughly $600 worth of items from a storage shed at the Catamount Ranch Metro District.

A Catamount Ranch employee discovered the burglary at the property, 34035 East U.S. Highway 40 next to the old school house, at about 6 a.m. Sunday. Officers believe it happened late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, Routt County Sheriff’s Lt. Richard Wood said.

He declined to specify what items were stolen, but said there was damage to the district’s entry gate.

Officers have gathered evidence that may lead to the perpetrator, but they encourage anyone with additional information — particularly whether any cars were seen in the area — to contact police, Wood said.

Those with information should call Wood or investigator Rachelle Redmond at 879-1090.
