Candlelight vigil planned for Steamboat Springs tonight
An informal “Candlelight Vigil for Peace” will be held from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight (Monday, Aug. 14) on the sidewalk in front of the Historic Routt County Courthouse in downtown Steamboat Springs.
The event is an opportunity for Steamboat residents to come together in peace and love and to protest the hate and bigotry, which was on display in Charlottesville this past weekend.
People are invited to meet in front of the Courthouse around 7:30 p.m. and light candles or flashlights at sunset. Participants should bring their own lights. Positive signs are also welcomed.
