CALVIN R. BROWN
1925-2001
Calvin R. Brown of Westminster lost his long battle with cancer Aug. 16, 2001. He was 76. Services were held at 12 p.m. Aug. 22, 2001, at Olinger Highland Mortuary in Thornton.
Cal was born April 30, 1925, in Milburn, N.E. and graduated from Broken Bow High School with the class of 1943. He served on the USS Natoma Bay in the U.S. Navy from 1943-45.
He was married to Mardelle Payne in 1945; she lost her battle with cancer in 1978. He then married LaVerne Ivers in 1978.
Calvin was a retired general contractor and most recently worked in guest services at Coors Field for the Rockies.
He was an Ordained Elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church and volunteered much of his time on various committees for the church.
He is survived by his wife, LaVerne; a brother, Lyle M. of The Dalles, Ore.; a sister, Lola F. of Ansley, N.E.; a son, Fred A. of Thornton; two daughters, Peggy A. of Emmett, Idaho and Debra K. of Steamboat Springs; four stepsons, Craig, Dave, Joe and Rich Clymo of Denver; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
