Bust of Steamboat breast cancer fundraiser needs helpers
The Bust of Steamboat committee, which supports the needs of local breast cancer patients, is gearing up for its annual fundraiser and is looking for volunteers to help “Paint the Town Pink” for October Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Volunteers can devote the amount of time they are comfortable with. Tasks include assisting with communications, marketing and sponsorships. Each year, 100% of proceeds benefit patients who are uninsured or underinsured fighting breast cancer in Routt and Moffat counties. The organization has raised approximately $900,000 since 2020.
Some 45-50 patients in the Yampa Valley are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, according to the committee. Local businesses are asked to create a Paint the Town Pink fundraising event, team-building day or promotion week or month to help support the effort.
To get involved, contact the Bust of Steamboat committee through the email form on the website TheBustofSteamboat.org or email info@thebustofsteamboat.org.
