— A unique Montana-style log home under the Steamboat Ski Area gondola garnered Internet interest in a big way during the last two weeks as it was featured on a trio of popular websites.

The See Me Lodge, built in 2006 and frequently rented out as a vacation rental on sites such as VRBO, was listed for sale by broker Chris Paoli, of The Paoli Group, in late October on behalf of owners Mike and Mary Donnelly, of Florida.

Paoli said the property was first featured on Zillow, a real estate Web site, as the site’s House of the Week beginning Nov. 24. That story was picked up by the Web site for CBS’ Today Show before hitting Yahoo! last Tuesday, Dec. 1.

The story was featured on Yahoo!’s front page under the title “Dream log cabin home in the Rockies,” and generated more than 4 million page views, Paoli said.

“We have a pretty organized process for how we try to get the PR done for these bigger homes, but this is by far the best exposure we’ve gotten,” Paoli said.

The five-bedroom, five-bath 6,000-plus square foot ski-in home on Ski Trail Lane is listed for $4.95 million.

Paoli said that the home has been featured in other articles over the years for log cabin magazines and other publications, including Colorado Homes magazine.

“Architecturally, from the outside, it’s just very attractive,” Paoli said. “And it’s the highest home on the hill when you’re looking under the gondola. It’s really got a prominent stature. A lot of people recognize it once they’ve seen it.”

Since the property hit Yahoo! last week, Paoli said his team has received calls from as far away as New York and Texas from people who saw the property and are interested to learn more.

“We’ve gotten inquiries from places pretty far away from Steamboat,” Paoli said. “It’s the fun side of marketing to see this little viral experience happen.”
