Roy Powell joins RE/MAX Steamboat

Longtime resident Roy Powell has joined Re/Max Steamboat as a broker associate. Powell has worked as a real estate professional in Steamboat Springs for the past six years.

Powell, who first moved to Steamboat Springs in 1976, previously worked for the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club as executive director from 1984 to1997. Powell remains active in international race officiating and World Cup organization on a volunteer level. First licensed as a real estate agent in 1994, Powell also is a registered appraiser in Colorado providing real estate consulting services.

Powell earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix and associate’s degrees in humanities and ski business marketing.

Doerr joins Century 21 Ski Town Associates

Kari Doerr is the newest associate broker at Century 21 Ski Town Associates. She has been involved in real estate for more than 20 years with diverse experience in development and real estate management in the public sector.

“Her enthusiasm is infectious,” managing broker Chuck Armbruster said. “She has an astute attention for detail and loves the marketing end of real estate.”

Doerr formerly worked in the real estate department for the Colorado Division of Wildlife Northeast Region. She also worked in real state sales in Missoula, Mont.

Price of gasoline edges downward in Colorado


The statewide average price for regular, self-serve unleaded gasoline continues its downward trend and has fallen below $1.60 per gallon. The last time Colorado’s statewide average was under $1.60 per gallon was Aug. 6, when regular, self-serve, unleaded gasoline was at $1.56.7 per gallon, according to the AAA.

Prices for regular unleaded in Steamboat Springs are shadowing the trend. The lowest prices for gas in Steamboat this week were in the range of $1.68.

A spot check of prices across the Denver area shows prices ranging from $1.399 to $1.579 per gallon for regular, self-serve, unleaded gasoline.
