Tax valuation seminar offered by Mainstreet

The Economic Restructur­ing Committee of Mainstreet Steamboat Springs will present a seminar about downtown tax valuations and their effects on businesses from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Centennial Hall. The event is free. Routt County Assessor Mike Kerri­­­gan, commercial appraiser John Zimmerman and commercial property appraiser Kevin Chandler will lead the seminar. Topics include the history of downtown valuations, how the assessor now looks at commercial property values and the quality and quantity of evidence for determining accurate valuations.
