Ski clothing line of local taking off
“Coloradobiz” is reporting that Steamboat Olympian Nelson Carmichael’s ski clothing line is taking off.
Carmichael won a bronze medal at Albertville, France, in 1992 in mogul skiing. He has a line of ski clothing called Ten-80, a reference to a triple helicopter maneuver on skis.
The clothing was named “sweetest looking” skiwear by “Skiing” magazine and sales have reportedly tripled in the company’s second year.
Tex-Mex restaurant coming to town
A small chain of established Front Range restaurants serving Tex-Mex food in a family setting confirmed this week it is coming to Steamboat Springs.

Corinne Govan, public relations manager for the Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant, said her company has signed a lease to occupy the building at 628 Lincoln Avenue. It was formerly occupied by the Main Dish Bar and Grill.
Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant currently operates stores in Fort Collins, Boulder, Greeley and Lower Downtown Denver, Govan said. The restaurants place an emphasis on serving fresh food off the grill, as opposed to fried food, Govan said. She could not offer a timetable for when the restaurant will open. The restaurant business is headquartered in Fort Collins.
