Ski resort selects Internet provider

SpringSips has been selected as the Internet Service Provider for the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp. This new service will provide their corporate network with high-speed access to the internet.

“We were happy to find a local company that could meet our capacity, reliability, service and support requirements. SpringSips is committed to bringing the needed bandwidth into this community to meet our current and expected needs. Utilizing SpringSips wireless technology, we were able to transfer our service seamlessly in a much shorter time frame than would have been possible with a traditional T-1 line connection between our offices,” said Randy Howie, a senior director of information technology for the Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation.

Reservist employers could receive loans

Small businesses that employ military reservists who were called to active duty by President Bush in response to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon may qualify for Military Reservist Economic Injury Disaster Loans. These disaster loans are available from the U.S. Small Business Administration to small businesses during a period of military conflict.

The MREIDL program will provide loan funds to eligible small businesses to cover operating expenses that would have been met but cannot because an essential employee was called to active duty.

Greeley Gas seeks a state rate reduction

Greeley Gas Company has made a filing with the Colorado Public Utilities Commission requesting a decrease to their natural gas commodity rates by 44.9 percent for customers in their northwestern/central service areas. If approved, the new rates would be effective Nov. 1.

This decrease comes about as increased storage capacity, additional production and milder weather has positively affected natural gas market prices.
