Building contractor free educational lunch Jan. 15

Builders and construction contractors are invited to a Building Contractor Open House presented by the city of Steamboat Springs including a free lunch from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on Jan. 15 in the Community Room of the Combined Law Enforcement Facility, 2027 Shield Dr. in Steamboat Springs.

Summit County consultant VERT Sites will share results of the city’s Construction & Demolition Diversion Feasibility Study during the luncheon open house. The results of a contractor survey and recent waste diversion study at three local construction sites will highlight the next steps toward diverting waste from construction.

The open house will address the following:
• Local insights on construction and demolition disposal and diversion
• Challenges and struggles local contractors faced in a recent waste study
• Results from a recent industry survey of local contractors
• Disposal and diversion insights from a Colorado materials management expert
