Annual Literary Sojourn festival tickets sold out
The Literary Sojourn, Steamboat’s annual festival of readers and authors, is sold out. Tickets are no longer available for the Oct. 14 event. Information about the 2007 event will be available at http://www.literarysojourn.com in the months to come. Call 879-0240.
High school needs convertibles for parade
Steamboat Springs High School needs convertibles for its homecoming parade. Owners of the convertibles will drive the vehicles during the parade, transporting members of the school’s royalty court. If interested, call Lucianne Myhre at 871-3623. The high school also is looking for businesses that would like to participate in the homecoming parade.
Museum seeking annual award nominations
The Tread of Pioneers Museum is seeking nominations for the annual Leckenby and Larson awards. The awards will be presented by the museum at a special awards dinner in October.
The Leckenby Pioneer Award is given to a living pioneer in Routt County. The nominee must have a total of 30 years residency in Routt County. The recipient must be involved with the community; responsive to community needs; and contributing to the future. He or she also must be a representative of the history of the community as well as an inspiration to the county’s youths.
The Stanley L. Larson Award is bestowed on someone who has made a major contribution to Routt County while living here and has since passed away.
Nominations may be submitted to the Tread of Pioneers Museum at Eighth and Oak streets, P.O. Box 772372, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477.
