Cancer Support Group
to host sharing session
The Yampa Valley Cancer Support Group will host a special caring and sharing session Monday for those dealing with cancer and their significant others. The session is at 7 p.m. at the Visiting Nurse Association office at 940 Central Park Drive, Suite 101. Call the VNA at 879-1632.
Advocates training course is at 6 p.m. Oct. 14
The first new volunteer training session for Advocates Against Battering and Abuse will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 14. If you are interested in becoming an advocate and participating in the 25-hour training course, call Sandy at 879-2034.
Cog Rally is seeking
The third annual Colorado Cog Rally needs volunteers for timing, course and spectator control for the rally Saturday. All volunteers will receive a free T-shirt, lunch and admission to the event, as well as free admission to the welcome party and awards ceremony. A free hockey clinic offered for girls 8-16
A free hockey clinic for girls ages 8-16 will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Howelsen Ice Arena. Call 870-8131 to sign up. Skate rentals will be free to clinic participants.
Steamboat Dance Theatre is holding auditions
Steamboat Dance Theatre will hold auditions for its 32nd annual winter concert Oct. 12 at the Northwest Ballet studio, 326 Oak St. Sign-in will be at 3 p.m., warm-up at 3:30 p.m. and auditions at 4 p.m. The audition fee is $10, which includes an annual Steamboat Dance Theatre membership. The concert will take place March 4, 5 and 6 at Steamboat Springs High School. Call Jayne at the Depot Arts Center, 879-9008.

My School preschool
The second year of My School Parents Group/Preschool has six spaces available for the coming school year for 3- to 5-year-old preschoolers.
This is a low-cost preschool alternative with a required time commitment from each family. The school is open from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays during the school year.

Moose Is Loose Golf
tourney tees off Sept. 24
The annual Moose Is Loose Golf Tournament, hosted by Jim “Moose” Barrows and benefiting the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, will tee off at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Sheraton Steamboat Resort Golf Course. Five-member teams can enter by calling 879-4645.
