Auditions are Friday for Broadway musical piece

Between nine and 12 female singers and dancers are needed for a performance of the musical number “Big Spender” from the Broadway musical “Sweet Charity.” The piece will be performed during the Steamboat Dance Theatre show in March. Auditions are at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the Strawberry Park Elementary School music room. Auditioners are asked to sing 16 bars from a Broadway-style music piece. Lutheran Women’s Guild holding a rummage sale

The Lutheran Women’s Guild will hold its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 22. Clean items in good shape can be dropped off at Concordia Lutheran Church on Amethyst Drive near the Spring Creek trailhead. No tires, computers or large appliances will be accepted. Call 879-0175.

Health center seeking computer volunteers

The Community Health Resource Center is looking for computer-literate volunteers to work three hours a week. The center operates a medical lending library and conducts Internet searches. Call Yampa Valley Medical Center or the resource center for more information.

Evening flu shot clinic available Wednesdays

Steamboat Medical will have a flu shot clinic from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays in October. The cost is $18 a vaccine. No appointment is necessary. Call 879-0203.

Studio holding auditions Oct. 23 for dance show

Auditions for Steamboat Dance Theatre’s March 2006 production are from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 23 at Northwest Ballet Studio, 326 Oak St. Registration is at 3 p.m., and warmup is at 3:30 p.m. All abilities are needed, and high school students are welcome to audition. CMC offers free English classes three times a week
