Dance studio offers master classes this weekend

The Steamboat Dance Theatre is sponsoring master classes in modern dance Friday, Saturday and Sunday with guest teachers Judy Bejarano and Lisa Morgan from Impact Dance in Fort Collins. Beginning, intermediate and intermediate/advanced classes will be offered.he cost is $8 a class for members and $15 for nonmembers. An annual membership is $10. Pilates-a-thon benefits Steamboat athletes

Steamboat Pilates is holding a Pilates-a-thon fundraiser for Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club athletes. All proceeds will be awarded in scholarships to a male and a female athlete in each of four disciplines. A variety of classes will be offered from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Steamboat Pilates at 11th Street and Lincoln Avenue in the Old West building. Call 879-6788 to sign up for a half-hour massage, reformer classes, children’s classes and private lessons. Classes are $8, and half-hour massages are $20.

Free evaluations mark physical therapy month

The Colorado chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association is celebrating National Physical Therapy Month in October by offering free physical therapy evaluations Saturday at the Center for Sports Medicine in Steamboat Springs. The evaluations will be conducted from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Center for Sports Medicine’s Central Park Plaza location next to Wal-Mart. The 20-minute evaluations will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Call 879-7799 for more information.

Get in the holiday spirit through hockey fundraiser

The Chix with Stix women’s hockey team is selling holiday wreaths as a team fundraiser. Anyone interested in purchasing wreaths, garland or door swags can call Lisa Owen at 879-5668. Orders will be accepted until Oct. 31, with delivery expected in early December.
