Blood drive today at YVMC from 12:30 to 6 p.m.
A blood drive sponsored by the Yampa Valley Medical Center Auxiliary volunteers is from 12:30 to 6 p.m. today at the medical center. Bonfils Blood Center will conduct the drive. All donors will receive a Bonfils Nalgene water bottle. Appointments are required. Call Barbara Hughes at 870-6267 to schedule a donation time.
Studios Art & Culture Tour scheduled for July 31
The fourth annual Steamboat Studios Art and Culture Tour, scheduled for July 31, will feature artist’s studios in downtown Steamboat Springs and near the base of Mount Werner. This annual, self-guided tour presented by the Steamboat Springs Arts Council takes participants along a different geographic route in Northwest Colorado each year to visit working artists’ studios and cultural points of interest. The tour starts at The Eleanor Bliss Center for the Arts at the Depot Art Center, home of the Steamboat Springs Arts Council, where participants are treated to a gourmet breakfast while they view the SummerArt 2004 exhibit, a multi-media fine art exhibit and sale of work by local, regional and national artists. The tour also includes a picnic lunch at the Tread of Pioneers Museum with entertainment by singer/songwriter Carrie Elkin, a cooperative fine art exhibit and a silent auction. All-inclusive tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children younger than 12. Call the Steamboat Springs Arts Council at 879-9008 for ticket sales or more information.
Art on the Mountain has three days remaining
The Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. is hosting the third annual Art On The Mountain in Gondola Square. Remaining dates are July 31, Aug. 1 and Sept. 11. Anyone interested in participating may call 871-5382.
Historian talks Friday about Lewis and Clark
Yampatika presents “On the trail with Lewis and Clark,” a talk by historian Stuart Wier, from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Olympian Hall. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children. To reserve seats, call Yampatika at 871-9151.
Artists sought for three summer Art Walks

Registrations ends Friday for creative dance classes
Creative dance classes for 3-year-olds, 4- to 6-year-olds, and parents and toddlers will be offered Tuesday and Thursday mornings, Aug. 10 to 19, at Northwest Ballet Studio. Registration ends Friday. Call 736-1005.
Summer reading program at Soda Creek Elementary
A drop-in summer reading program for elementary students is from 9:30 a.m. to noon and 4:45 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays through Aug. 4 at Soda Creek Elementary School.
