Recreational jumping series on Tuesday nights

The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club’s Tuesday Night Recreational Jumping series is Tuesday nights from 6 to 8 p.m. through March 7. Registration is from 5:30 to 6 p.m. on jumping nights. The cost is $12 a night, and jumpers must have a lift ticket and a helmet. No experience is necessary. Call 879-0695.

Speech and debate team needs volunteers Saturday

The Steamboat Springs High School speech and debate team is gearing up for the 26th annual Steamboat Springs Invitational, a speech and debate competition Saturday at the high school. About 20 community volunteers still are needed to help judge the tournament. Anyone interested in helping can contact speech team members or coach Marty Lamansky at 871-3609.

Chamber orchestra to present youth program

The Steamboat Springs Chamber Orchestra will introduce its new Youth Ensemble Program to parents and their young musician at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Depot Art Center. In a new design, an ensemble “coach” from the chamber orchestra will instruct student quartets, consisting of violins, violas, cellos, bass, piano, flutes and clarinets at various ability levels.
