CMC theater instructor organizing trip to Denver

Stuart Handloff, theater instructor at Colorado Mountain College, is organizing an upcoming trip to Denver to see two performances: “Measure for Measure” and “Gem of the Ocean.” The trip will leave from CMC at 8 a.m. Feb. 2 and return at 2 a.m. Feb. 3. The cost is $120. Interested students must pre-enroll in this noncredit CMC course and pay the fee on or before Feb. 1. Enrollment is limited to 13 students. For more information, call 879-5922.

LIFT-UP of Routt County to be closed Thursday, Friday



The donation center for LIFT-UP of Routt County will be closed Thursday and Friday. The center will re-open for donations at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Call 879-3374.

Council on Aging seeks volunteers to drive meals



The Routt County Council on Aging needs volunteers to drive meals to Steamboat Springs residents from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays. Call Shelley Orrell at 879-0633.

Historic preservation group members sought

The city of Steamboat Springs is looking for applicants to serve on the Historic Preservation Advisory Commission. The commission meets from 5 to 7 p.m. the second and fourth Mondays of each month. The commission provides guidance, education, resources and review to preserve, protect and restore the elements of the built, natural and cultural environments that define the character of Steamboat. The commission needs applicants in professional positions, such as architects, historians, archaeologists and architectural historians. Other interested applicants also should apply. Perry-Mansfield scholarship applications due Feb. 1

The deadline for submitting video scholarship applications for the 2006 summer session of Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp is Feb. 1. Perry-Mansfield would like to remind all intermediate (grades eight and nine) and high school and college students that they must audition for scholarships by submitting a video. Local scholarship auditions for dance, theater and musical theater students in grades five through seven are March 4. Call 879-7125 for more information.

Library’s Babytime program on Saturdays

Bud Werner Memorial Library’s Babytime program runs Saturday mornings through Feb. 18. The program for babies, toddlers and their parents features rhymes, movement, Mother Goose stories and simple books. Babytime is held from 9:30 to 10 a.m. and 10:30 to 11 a.m.
