Kiwanis Club taking

talent contest applications



The Steamboat Springs Kiwanis Club is seeking entries for its annual Stars of Tomorrow Talent Contest, which will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 14 in the Steamboat Springs High School auditorium. The competition is open to all school-aged children enrolled in a public or private school or home-schooled. The top three finishers in each of three age groups receive a medal, and the winner of the senior age group, which is open to high school students, advances to the Stars of Tomorrow district competition. Entry forms are available at schools or by calling 723-4093. Entries are due Feb. 7.

Military veterans’ benefit information available



Military veterans can get information about veterans’ benefits and programs by calling 879-5489 or stopping by the Routt County Veterans Services Office, in the Colorado Workforce Center in Sundance at Fish Creek. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday. Bring your DD Form 214 for registration with the county, application for Veterans Administration programs and for filing with the VSO office.

East Routt district seeking library board members

The East Routt Library District Board of Trustees, which oversees the Bud Werner Memorial Library, is seeking interested individuals to serve on the library board. Application packets and information are available at the library, 1289 Lincoln Ave. Applicants must reside within the RE-2 School District boundaries. The Steamboat Springs Chamber Orchestra is looking for musicians. Strings, trumpet, bassoon, oboe and French horn players particularly are sought. Call 879-3685.

The Routt County Fair Association has vacant positions for at-large and Road District No. 3 representatives for the Routt County Fair Board. People interested in serving on the volunteer board, which meets once a month to plan and produce the annual Routt County Fair, should call Terry at 276-3068.
