Sheriff’s department aids people in broken vehicle

Two people whose vehicle broke down on Farwell Mountain north of Steamboat Springs were aided by the Routt County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday.

The couple called in at 6:35 p.m., saying their vehicle was inoperable, Lt. Richard Wood said. Because sunset was not too far away and temperatures had dropped, a deputy was dispatched to the scene.

The deputy drove the couple to the campground they were staying at, and a towing vehicle picked up their car the next day, Wood said.
