Craig Cinco de Mayo Festival seeks talent
Comunidad Integrada is looking for local talent to participate in a talent show during the Third annual Craig Cinco de Mayo Festival. The event is from noon to 5 p.m. May 5. Talent show participants will perform from 12:15 to 1:45 p.m. Please give Summer Laws a call at 846-5521 to participate.
Cabaret 2007 tickets on sale now
Tickets are on sale for Cabaret 2007, an Arts Council fundraiser and local comedy revue. This year’s theme is “The Times Are A-Changin'” and will be held May 17 to May 19 at Steamboat Mountain Theater. Reserved seating ticket prices are $40 for opening night and $30 for Friday and Saturday shows. Call 879-9008.
Carpenter’s Ball is May 12 at Steamboat Grand Resort
The second annual Carpenter’s Ball is at 6:30 p.m. May 12 at the Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel. Tickets are $60 a person or $900 for a corporate table. All proceeds benefit Routt County Habitat for Humanity. For more information or to RSVP, call 871-6101.
Equine Health Management course offered at CMC
Colorado Mountain College is offering Equine Health Management, a course introducing methods of prevention, recognition and treatment of common horse diseases. This course also covers West Nile Virus in the Yampa Valley and is taught by Dr. Mike Gotchey. The class is held from 7 to 9:50 p.m. Thursdays through May 3 in Bristol Hall, Room 118. Tuition is $43 for in-district residents. Register by calling 870-4444 or stopping by the front desk at Bristol Hall.
Vocal scholarship applications being accepted
Emerald City Opera is accepting applications for its Graduating Senior Vocal Scholarship. ECO annually awards one vocal scholarship to a graduating high school senior from Routt County who plans to actively continue vocal study at college or university. The deadline to apply is May 1. Dance scholarship applications being accepted
The Steamboat Dance Theatre is now accepting applications for dance scholarships for spring or summer dance. Anyone, child through adult, with financial need is welcome to apply for tuition assistance to study dance. Scholarship application forms are available through your local dance teacher or you may download it from http://www.dancesteamboat.org or call Wendy Smith Mikelsons at 736-1005. Artisans invited to Hahn’s Peak event
The second annual Hahn’s Peak Arts, Crafts and Antiques Fair is from 10 a.m. To 4 p.m. Aug. 25. Anyone who would like space for the fair should call 879-7291. Spaces are $30 each with proceeds benefiting the Hahn’s Peak Historical Society.
