Author Maguire to speak, sign books April 15
Author Gregory Maguire will discuss his novel and Broadway play, “Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West” from 7 to 8 p.m. April 15 at Olympian Hall. A book signing will follow.
The event is sponsored by the Steamboat Community Libraries as part of the annual Steamboat Reads in April. For information, call Bud Werner Memorial Library at 879-0240.
9Health Fair scheduled for Saturday at middle school
The 9Health Fair will be from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at Steamboat Springs Middle School.
This community health fair, sponsored by Yampa Valley Medical Center and the Healthcare Foundation of the Yampa Valley, offers low cost blood tests and free health screenings.

Blood tests are $30, PSA tests are $25 and colorectal cancer take-home kits are $5. There will be free vision, hearing, foot, oral, body in balance, lung function and blood pressure checks. No registration is required.

Days Off activities set
for kids’ Spring Break
The Steamboat Springs Arts Council and Parks and Recreation Department are offering the Kaleidoscope Arts program as a part of the School Days Off activities during Spring Break.
This two-day session will focus on ceramics, highlighting artists and getting the children directly in contact with all materials.
Sessions are from 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. April 19 and 21 at the Igloo, 279 Howelsen Parkway. The cost is $25 per day. Call Jennifer at 879-430.
Powder Riders hosting Family Fun Day
The Routt Powder Riders Snowmobile Club will host its annual Family Fun Day on Saturday. Participants should meet at 9 a.m. at the Columbine Parking Lot in North Routt County
Snowmobile games and sledding will be offered. Routt Powder Riders will furnish lunch and drinks. All should be back at the parking lot about 2 p.m.

CattleWomen can provide agriculture curriculum
Routt County CattleWomen has agriculture curriculum available for teachers appropriate for all grade levels from preschool to secondary. Topics include Colorado history, beef by-products, wheat, eggs, dairy, nutrition, safe food handling, body image and food and recipes.

Easter services to be held at congregational church
A special Tenbrae (shadows) candlelight service based on Passion readings will be held at Hayden Congregational Church, 202 E. Jefferson Ave., at 7 p.m. April 8. An Easter sunrise service will be conducted at the Hayden Cemetery at 6:30 a.m. April 11. The Hayden Congregational Church Youth Group will serve breakfast at the church, 202 E. Jefferson Ave., after the service. Donations will be accepted and appreciated. Easter service at the church will be at 10:30.
