New rotavirus vaccine available
The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association is offering the newly available Rotavirus vaccine. Rotavirus infects children between six and 24 months of age and causes three significant symptoms: high fever, vomiting and diarrhea. The vaccine is given by mouth in three separate doses at two, four and six months of age. The vaccine cannot be given outside of this age range. Children’s vaccines are given on a sliding fee scale, and no child will be refused a vaccine because of an inability to pay. Call 879-1632 to make an appointment for your infant.

Arts council needs docent program volunteers
The Steamboat Springs Arts Council is seeking volunteers for its docent program. SSAC docents are trained volunteers who staff The Depot galleries, help interpret and explain exhibits and encourage visitor interaction with the artwork, furthering the mission of the Steamboat Springs Arts Council. They help with unpacking exhibit items, hanging shows and hosting opening receptions. Docents also coordinate the annual Studio Tour and facilitate the “Art for Seniors” program at the Doak Walker Care Center.
Docents are available to lead guided tours of the exhibits to schools and groups if requested. Docents meet monthly for seminars as well as occasional field trips.
