The program is open to children ages 6 to 16. Students will be creating a production of music and dance based on the arts and culture of Guinea, West Africa. They will make the sets, costumes and musical instruments for the production. The immersion program runs from June 21 to July 13. Call 870-9977.

CCTC to perform ‘Shirley’ play

“Shirley Valentine,” originally performed in February 2003 by the Steamboat Community Players, will be performed this summer at the Colorado Community Theatre Coalition in Aspen. As in Steamboat, “Shirley Valentine” will be performed in its entirety by Nina Rogers.

Productions staged at CCTC are given 10 minutes to set up, an hour to perform and 10 minutes to take their sets down, Rogers said. The set must fit within a 10-by-10-foot square on the floor.

CCTC will be held from June 9 to 13. Call 879-3254.
