The sales tax makes the city council partners with the businesses in town, but this partnership does not always act in ways that non-business residents would prefer.

The residents of Steamboat Springs place a very high value on lifestyle. The businesses, through their Chamber, would like to have Triple Crown bring another 60 teams into Steamboat next summer (2016) and want to use Emerald Park to play some of those games.

At the Botanic Park, we think this is just “the foot in the door.” If you want to see what’s going on, you might want to come to City Hall at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when your city council plans to review Emerald Park and its uses.
