Big Mountain skiers shine in Breck

— Bryce Zetzman and Parker Temple skied well for the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club big mountain team last week at the GoPro Big Mountain Challenge in Breckenridge.

Zetzman finished second after qualifying third. Temple, meanwhile, finished sixth, moving way up after qualifying 12th.

“Parker sent a huge 360 into Savor Chute to start his finals run and finished with a massive air exiting the chute and skied clean into the finish,” coach Jon Dean said. “In his qualifying run he wowed the crowed with a fully extended Cosack he sent about 30 feet down the hill.”

Zetzman had big runs, as well.

“Bryce’s qualifying run was very technical,” dean said. “Starting with a double stage drop and then a huge air into Savor chute. His finals run was even better. Starting with an air into Whiff Chute and then traversing into a gnarly ‘Billy Goat Line’ to work his way back over to the Savor Chute and then finishing off with a massive bottom air.

“Overall a great performance from both guy that attended this event.”
