Bessie H. Rowley (1910-2004)

Former Hayden resident Bessie H. Rowley passed away July 28, 2004, at Mantey Heights Rehab and Care Center in Grand Junction. She was 94.

Bessie was born June 10, 1910, in Fort Dodge, Ind., to Thomas and Rose Robinson. She spent her childhood in Cornish, Colo.

Bessie married Frank Rowley in Greeley. He passed away in 1975 in Hayden, where Bessie remained until moving to Battlement Mesa in 2001.

Bessie was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Hayden. She specialized in good cooking and taking care of people who were ill.

She is survived by two sons, Jack Rowley and his wife, Dell, of Grand Junction and James Rowley and his wife, Mary, of Battlement Mesa; a sister, Dorothy Howes of Kansas City, Kan.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held July 31, 2004, at the Hayden Cemetery.
