Authorities locate ‘missing’ suspect

— A suspect in the Marie Blee disappearance case believed to be missing himself has been located.

Last week, members of a Yampa Valley law enforcement task force reported that they hadn’t been able to locate suspect Monty Doolin since September.

However, some of the task force members went to Grand Junction Friday for a meeting and when they returned, Moffat County Undersheriff Jerry Hoberg said Doolin had been found.

“The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office actually found him,” Hoberg said. “He’s living in the Grand Junction area.”

Doolin is one of three men who have been named as suspects in the case of the Hayden teen-ager who disappeared from a party in 1979. Steve Skufca of Craig and Max Abel Garcia of Portland, Ore., also have been identified by the Marie Blee task force as suspects in the case.
