Arts calendar for Jan. 6
¤ A dedication ceremony for “Steamboat Spirit” by sculptor George Lundeen will be held at 3 p.m. at Howelsen Hill. The life-size bronze was created in honor of the junior athletes of Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. A small version of the statue is on display and for sale at the Wild Horse Gallery in the Steamboat Sheraton Resort Hotel. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Ashley Stamp Scholarship Fund. ¤ A reception for “Birds of Routt County: Paintings by Joan Hoffmann” will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Carpenter Ranch near Hayden. Proceeds from the sale of paintings will benefit The Nature Conservancy. Call 276-4626.
