SMALL WORKS GALLERY OFFERS NATURE EXHIBIT

STEAMBOAT SPRINGSThe Small Works Gallery in the Depot Art Center hosts emerging artist Janet McCulloch’s oil paintings in “Nature Undisturbed” now through Nov. 5. McCulloch, of Fort Collins, won second place in the Small Works Gallery “The Politics of Flowers Exhibition” and won third place in the Steamboat Springs Arts Council Winter Works Exhibit. McCulloch’s paintings range in price from $225 to $1,000.

WINTER SPORTS CLUB HOSTS FREE WAX CLINIC

BOOK SIGNING FEATURES AUTHOR LAURA PRITCHETT



STEAMBOAT SPRINGSLaura Pritchett offers a book signing of her recent fiction novel, “Hell’s Bottom, Colorado,” at 2 p.m. Nov. 19 at Off the Beaten Path Bookstore. The story is of the stark reality of life on a Colorado cattle ranch where a three-generational family struggles to live together in the diverse and dramatic landscape of Hell’s Bottom Ranch. The book is sold at Off the Beaten Path for $14.95 and is published by Milkweed Editions.

MOUNTAIN SPORTS CLUB CALENDAR IN PREPARATION

STEAMBOAT SPRINGSThe Mountain Sports Club is preparing its winter calendar and promoting the Mountain Sports Magazine, “Merchants Cup” Adventure Race Point Series. The sports club will host six races beginning in January of typical outdoor adventure sports related to the seasons. Teams consist of four people two men and two women. The series kicks off with a Spaghetti Mixer Nov. 30 open to the public. The mixer will provide people with competition guidelines, pre-event registration, and membership and sponsors information. ARTS COUNCIL ACCEPTING WINTER WORKS ENTRIES

STEAMBOAT SPRINGSThe Steamboat Springs Arts Council is accepting slide entries for Winter Works 2002, to be held Jan. 18 to Feb. 24 at the Depot Art Center in Steamboat. The theme for this exhibit is “Wordplay.” Artists are asked to interpret the theme in any form, ranging from the literal to abstract. Winter Works 2002 is a juried exhibition, with cash awards given. The show is open to all media except video and installations. Entry deadline is November 30, 2001. All work must be for sale. The SSAC will retain a 25 percent commission.
