STEAMBOAT SPRINGSColorado Mountain College’s Alpine Enrichment Program presents a Novel Ideas series for the spring semester with “Rivers, Range and Change” as the topic for Feb. 20. Discussions are at 7 p.m. Wednesdays in Bogue Hall, room 300. The discussions are free and open to the public. Cathy Neelan, a Steamboat resident and author of “Rivers, Range and Change, A Legacy of Landscapes in Routt & Moffat County 1900-2000,” will facilitate the discussion on changes in the environment in the last century and how she came to write the book. The annual progressive dinner will be at the homes of Peggy Berglund, Rob Dick and Kathy Crawford, Eric and Joanne Glanz, John and Terry Sherrill, Dean and Cathy Vogelaar and Terry and Laurie Weston. DEPOT PRESENTS VALENTINE SOIREE

ART SCHOOL OFFERS $500 FELLOWSHIPS
STEAMBOAT SPRINGSThe Mixed Media Painting School of Steamboat Springs is offering Yampa Valley artists two $500 fellowship awards for continuing education in mixed media.
The application deadline is Friday and the winners will be announced April 1.
Jurors include Nancy Kramer, Bernie Rose and Patricia Branstead. Fellowships are awarded based on the requested field of study and the artistic quality of the work demonstrated. Call 879-9008 for more information and for applications.
