Annual Sustainable Home Tour set for Sept. 16

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — The 2018 Sustainable Home Tour, the Yampa Valley’s annual green building educational event, will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16.

Hosted by the Yampa Valley Sustainability Council, the tour will be an interesting afternoon of biking, walking or e-biking through Old Town Steamboat Springs to view inventive remodels, modern construction and a new affordable system-built home that meets current energy building codes.

This year’s self-paced tour adds fun elements such as discounted e-bike rentals and 10-minute Porch Presentations by construction professionals. Porch topics range from residential geothermal power, to making tiny homes legal in Routt County, to planning ahead to build green.

Advance tickets and e-bike reservations are available online at, and tickets will be available at the door at the YVSC office, 141 Ninth St.
