American Legion offers scholarship

The Steamboat Springs American Legion Post No. 44 is providing financial help to students who will graduate (in 2000) or have graduated from a high school in Routt County and will attend an accredited college, university, or technical school.

The financial assistance may be applied for by students who are planning on entering military service prior to attending college or technical school. A selected recipient who enters the military service will have his or her scholarship retained for use upon completion of military service.

The financial assistance offered by American Legion Post No. 44 is renewable for the sophomore, junior, and senior years for students maintaining an acceptable grade point average.



Completed applications must be returned no later than April 22.

Selection of scholarship recipients will be based upon a review of the applications made by a committee of members of American Legion Post No. 44.
