Why you should go: Because it’s the second free concert of the summer! Everyone will be there, including you.

¤ Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters fine art exhibition and sale
When: 5 p.m. today, opening reception; 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, quick draw and silent auction
Where: The opening reception is at the Wild Horse Gallery in Sheraton Steamboat Resort; quick draw and silent auction are on the courthouse lawn
Cost: Free
Why you should go: To see all the beautiful oil, pastel and watercolor plein air paintings by the 36 signature members and invited guests of the Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters, who have been painting scenes from Yampa to Columbine all week.

Saturday and Sunday
¤ Art in the Park
When: 9 a.m to 5 p.m. Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday
Where: West Lincoln Park
Cost: Free
Why you should go: So you can come say hi to me in my booth!



¤ Hot Air Balloon Rodeo
When: 7 to 10 a.m.
Where: Meadows Parking Lot
Cost: Free
Why you should go: Because it is one of the coolest things you’ll ever see.

Monday
and Tuesday
¤ African dance and drum classes
When: 2:30 p.m. children’s class; 5:30 p.m adult drum class; 6:30 p.m. adult dance class
Where: Depot Art Center, 1001 13th St., for adult classes and George P. Sauer Human Services Center on Seventh Street for children’s classes
Cost: $12 for adult class, $20 for both adult classes and $5 for children ages 6 to 12
Why you should go: Because the classes will be taught by the African dance master Abdoulaye Camara.
