Airport Circle water main project underway

The city of Steamboat Springs and Duckels Construction will be installing a water main in and around the Airport Circle and Elk River Road/County Road 129 intersection beginning today, according to a news release from the city.

Along with the construction of the water main, shoulder improvements to the southbound Elk River Road/County Road 129 will be made. One lane of traffic will be maintained during the course of construction, but vehicular traffic should expect minor delays along Airport Circle and Elk River Road/County Road 129. The public is urged to use caution and slow down for the cone zone.

Construction is expected to last approximately eight weeks, weather permitting. Once complete, the project will create a loop in the water system, which will allow for more water circulation to the airport area and create better water quality and fire flow protection.

For more information or questions about the project, call Amber Gregory, project manager, at 970-871-8211.
