A 60-year-old man died Saturday while floating the Green River near Dinosaur National Monument.
Representatives from the park said the man, believed to be from the Denver area, was on a commercial river trip when he suffered a “cardiac event.”
Sonya Popelko, a public information officer for the monument, said the incident took place “fairly close” to the northern boundary of the Gates of Lodore.
It is not clear at this time if the fatality had anything to do with being on the water.
A Classic Air Medical helicopter was used to transport the man, whose name has not yet been released, to Memorial Regional Health.
In addition to monument staff, Colorado Parks and Wildlife and Moffat County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident.
