4 taken to hospital from Steamboat Ski Area

— Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue responded to four calls Tuesday at Steamboat Ski Area.

Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. spokesman Mike Lane said emergency responders took four people to Yampa Valley Medical Center, including two for injuries suffered on the mountain.

He said an 11-year-old girl broke her leg after a collision at 2:48 p.m. on Sunset trail, and a 19-year-old woman hit her head at 12:15 p.m. at the bottom of Ego run. She was conscious.

He said two people, a 79-year-old man suffering from chest pains at the top of the gondola and a 10-year-old boy who had an asthma attack on Flat Out trail, were taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons.
