2019 Best of the Boat waitstaff/fine dining/dessert: Café Diva
Call it a trifecta for Café Diva.
The restaurant won a trio of awards this year, taking the top seat for Best Fine Dining, Waitstaff and Dessert.
The owners — executive chef Kate Rench, general manager Beth Fadel and sommelier Paul Underwood — credit their hard working, friendly staff for all three accolades, and take pride in providing top-level service to their customers.
When it comes to desserts, chef Rench prides herself on a menu studded with confections that evoke country home cooking — such that the sum of the parts is greater than the whole.
Try her Peach Streusel Cupcake, perfectly crusted crème brulee or homespun chocolate truffles.
“I like researching desserts made by other chefs and then improvising on the elements that intrigue me,” she says.
