2019 Best of the Boat outdoor dining: Aurum Food & Wine
Want to dine outside along the river?
It doesn’t get any better than the deck at Aurum, located at 811 Yampa St., which overlooks the river and offers views of Howelsen Hill.
Turn the kids loose on its adjacent grass lawn (yes, bring the soccer balls), take in live music on the outdoor stage, sip a cocktail around a glass-bead outdoor fireplace, or enjoy such favorites as crab cakes and chanterelle mushroom fondue next to the river.
“It’s a place where everyone is comfortable,” says owner Phil Armstrong, touting its fire pit, rooftop deck and new turf for the kids to play on, all located on Yampa River.
The restaurant also provides live music on its outdoor stage all summer long from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
Bonus: a “local’s hour” menu, complete with Colorado liquors and beers and a specialty drink list.
