It’s fitting that perennials are a top seller for Best Nursery/Gardening Supplier Windemere Landscape & Garden Center, because the store is a perennial favorite among voters.
“Those and our annuals are probably our biggest sellers,” says owner Talina Teixeira, who’s been running Windemere since purchasing Routt County Landscaping in 1995.
The store’s success, Teixeira says, owes itself to its location, variety and selection, as well as an exceptional staff that serves their customers’ needs. Windemere offers everything from patio pots and hanging baskets to fertilizers, herbicides, grass and wildflower seeds, trees, shrubs, soil amendments and more. It also offers custom garden design, installation and delivery. For trees, maples and Colorado spruce top the list, as does her favorite, bristle bone.
“Bristle cone because has a nice organic shape to it,” she says. “It’s perfect for homes here in Steamboat.”
