2019 Best of the Boat home garden: Kid’s Kabin Preschool
Located at 624 Pitkin St., Kid’s Kabin, a long-running children’s daycare center in the quiet neighborhood of Fairview, gets the high five for town’s Best Home Garden.
Maintained by Trudy Greig, the garden abuts a seasonal creek and boasts an array of flowers, grasses, bushes and more.
“Form and function apply as it’s used for 13 rambunctious preschoolers but is also appealing visually with contrasting sun and shade areas and vibrant colors blooming spring, summer and fall,” Greig says. “Gardening has always been easy for me — people joke that I have 10 green thumbs. It’s a lot of work, but it’s very rewarding. And I have wonderful friends who enjoy working on it as much as I do.”
The question is, how do they find the time to maintain it while doing such a great job watching our kids?
