2019 Best of the Boat coffee shop: Mountain Brew

Lonnie Castelli, and his wife, took over operations of Mountain Brew in Steamboat Springs in June.

Under new ownership by Lonnie Castelli and his wife Talitha “TJ” Appenzeller, Mountain Brew, with locations downtown and inside Bud Werner Memorial Library, is still the locals’ favorite place for a cup of java — as welcoming as it is aromatic.

Castelli says they’re keeping things pretty much the same, with only minor changes.

“We’re going to leave everything the way it is,” he said. “They did a great job, and people love it.”

With many menu items featuring local products, including eggs from Hayden Fresh Farm, Mountain Brew offers quiches that vary daily, a full breakfast menu, including the jumpstart sandwich and breakfast burrito, and a lunch menu, including sandwiches, a curry chicken wrap, salads and frittatas.

Also look for baked treats, 11 coffee drink selections and signature drinks.
