2019 Best of the Boat brewery: Storm Peak Brewing Co.
Located west of town at 1885 Elk River Plaza, Storm Peak Brewing Co. makes its beer in a 6,400-square-foot, great-to-hang-out-in facility with 20 taps and garage doors opening to a large patio with fire pit.
Mainstays include Maestro IPA, Mad Creek Kolsch, spruce tip saison Arborist and the rotating, dry-hopped River Wizard series, but it also experiments with everything from coffee-infused beers to kettle-soured ales (try its guava sour Hoochie Mama).
“We’re locally focused and always have a big variety on tap,” says co-founder Wyatt Patterson, adding they’re also always quick to support local functions and fundraisers. “We’re proud to call Steamboat home and love sharing our passion for beer.”
