2019 Best of the Boat bartender: Jack Doyle
Whether Harwig’s is filled with people Jack Doyle has met over his nearly four decades working in Steamboat restaurants, or complete strangers, the beloved bartender likes to be in on whatever is being talked about.
It’s one of the perks, he says, of being a bartender.
“You can butt into someone’s conversation and no one gets upset,” he says. Customers can find him behind the bar Wednesday through Saturday, serving up cocktail classics alongside newer concoctions. Martinis are his specialty.
“We use a really good, French Vermouth,” he says of the recipe. “It softens the flavor that little bit, and people love it.”
