2016 Yule Log Hunt clues

Paul Brown and the Pete Lien and Sons Concrete Plant crew found the 2015 yule log near the "Welcome to Steamboat Springs" along U.S. Highway 40, adjacent to Casey's Pond and the Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue station. The 2016 Yule Log Hunt is now underway.

They found the log near Casey’s shores.

Start the hunt, 10 clues in all.



Follow the path and have a ball.

Clue No. 2

Ring the bell, take out your slate.

Get your pole, choose your bait.

Fill ‘er up, or grab a bite.

Solve the clues, the time is right.

Clue No. 3

Make your way up toward the peak.

Follow the banks to cache you seek.

Solve the riddles with history and lore.

Step on into the family’s hut.

Way back when, few runs were cut.

Buy your ticket or grab a slice.

Get your gear, don’t think twice.

When the log is found, the winner should immediately call the Tread of Pioneers Museum at 970-879-2214 and ask for Candice or Katie. The log must be physically presented to a Tread of Pioneers Museum staff person before the winner can claim the prize of a $150 Steamboat Chamber gift certificate.
