Friday, April 20
Shaky Hand String Band
4:20 to 7:20 p.m. | Storm Peak Brewing Co, 1885 Elk River Plaza
Shaky Hand String Band will take over Storm Peak, performing a musical style known as “smokin’ mountain grass” with tight harmonies and groovy beats.
Sk8 Church’s 4/20 “Best Joint in Town”
6 p.m. | Sk8 Church, 2851 Riverside Plaza
A safe, sober and free 4/20 event featuring live music, skate competitions, games, prizes, free burgers and donuts, provided by Backdoor Grill and Milk Run, along with a chance to win prizes.
CMC Sky Club talk and stargazing
7 to 9:30 p.m. | Albright Auditorium, 1275 Crawford Ave.
Colorado Mountain College Sky Club will talk about a recent student project in basic spectroscopy, followed by free telescope viewing and stargazing.
Craig Thornhill & Friends
7 p.m. | The Press, 1009 Lincoln Ave.
Craig Thornhill & Friends will be playing an eclectic mix of acoustic music. No cover.
Mom And Dad – Costume Party
10 p.m. | Old Town Pub & Restaurant, 600 Lincoln Ave.
The Front Range band, Mom And Dad will offer a weird evening of music combining elements of raucous rock, shades of metal and a dance party.

Chess for kids
9:15 to 10:15 a.m. | Bud Werner Memorial Library, 1289 Lincoln Ave.
Kids age 8 and older are welcome to play chess in the Library’s Storytime Room. Chess sets and pieces will be provided by the library. For more information, contact the Kids Desk at 970-879-0240, ext. 313.
Stained Glass Workshop

No skills needed for this class. Bring a friend or neighbor; drop-ins welcome.
Make a Mother’s Day Card
1 to 2 p.m. | Bud Werner Memorial Library, 1289 Lincoln Ave.
Kids can drop-in to the Library’s Storytime Room to craft a Mother’s Day card for their mom, grandmother, aunt, neighbor or supportive woman. All supplies included. Hosted by volunteer Trish Carpenter.
Spring Crawfish Boil 2018
4 to 7 p.m. | Yampa Valley Brewing Company, 106 E. Jefferson Ave., Hayden
Yampa Valley Brewing Company will host a crawfish boil in its tap room. The cost is $15 for a plate full of boiled crawfish veggies. There will also be gumbo and two new beers on tap.
Sunday, April 22
Makin Noise: Earth Day 2018 Release
Noon to 10 p.m. | Storm Peak Brewing Co., 1885 Elk River Plaza
Makin’ Noise has partnered with Storm Peak to create a collaboration brew in celebration of Earth Day. Four other versions were made at select breweries in Colorado, made with the Westmalle yeast strain. $1 per pour will benefit various local environmental organizations, including Friends of the Yampa.
