Violet Lucille Beerman Mitchell October 27, 1923 – May 1, 2020

Our beloved Mother and Friend, Violet Lucille Beerman Mitchell passed away on May 1, 2020, at Casey’s Pond Senior Living in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. She was born October 27, 1923 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Otto and Violet (Perry) Beerman. Lucille was the second of five children. She was raised in the Islands and attended Roosevelt High School.

Lucille married James Carl Mitchell in 1946. They had and raised four children in the islands. In 1983 they retired to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. There they made numerous new friends and spent the next several years vacationing and exploring the western United States. Lucille was an active member of the Routt County Hospital Auxiliary and the LRC’s. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Mitchell and by her eldest son, Bruce M. (Monty) Mitchell. She leaves behind three children, Janice, Norman and Norma and their spouses, their children and five great grandchildren.

She was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be missed every day. Everyone who met Lucille instantly wanted to know her. She was an attentive listener with a great knack for empathy and insight.

Memorial services in Steamboat and Honolulu will be scheduled at a later date.
