Keri Elizabeth Meagher

Keri Elizabeth Meagher passed away peacefully on January 31st, in the loving home of her parents. She was born in Livermore, California and moved to Colorado Springs in 1967. She was a graduate of Cheyenne Mountain HS, received her bachelor of science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a Masters of Physician Assistant (PA) from the University of Utah. She began her career in outdoor guiding in Alaska with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) and grew into a mountaineering guide with Alaska Pacific University and Alaska Mountaineering School. Included were guiding groups for successful ascents of Denali (Mt. McKinley). Although she was selected to be a lead guide the following season, Keri switched professions to the practice of medicine satisfying a long felt need. Following her master’s degree she accepted a fellowship as an emergency room PA in Cooperstown, NY in 2011, where she was employed until her death.
